So here‘s how it all began: like most, the pandemic left me feeling isolated and bored. I was enrolled at the University of Florida at the time and felt like just about the only person who stayed on campus. I found myself spending much of my day scrolling the addictive app. One day, I opened the camera and filmed my take on the symmetrical face filter trend. It was just a silly thing I did to entertain myself, not expecting anything to come of it. That first video I filmed in 10 seconds ended up going viral, and I’ve been posting ever since that day in 2020! I have a strong affinity and maybe even an emotional attachment to the platform. I’ll be very sad to part with it come the imminent ban, but I’m excited to adapt and get in at the ground level of whatever new thing inevitably pops up in its place. I’ll also be expanding to Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, which was on the agenda anyway!
This was the first account I ever created! It’s mostly humor content, with some trendy audio lip-syncs mixed in. I’ve loved being myself on the account and making the kind of jokes that *I* find funny. However, I‘ve decided I want to be more intentional about the career and image I want to have. I’ve cleaned up the account and taken a more calculated approach. Going forward, I want to integrate more music (and possibly acting!) content and maximize the promotional aspect of my posting strategy. Another thing I have come to consider is the 83% male following the account has garnered. While I’m grateful for the audience, I have found myself feeling limited in what I should post because I am cautious in stifling the momentum of the account. For that reason, I created an additional account! This has allowed me to maintain and embrace the trajectory of @kyefayth2.0 while starting a new journey!
This account has a special place in my heart and I’m so glad that I created it. When I first started creating content for this account, it was mostly sharing my journey of being late-diagnosed with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and everything that comes with it. I found and took part in cultivating an engaging and supportive community. It’s been a strong testament to the invaluableness of the platform in terms of raising awareness and spreading an important message and connection that transcends even an international quarantine. These days, the account functions as somewhat of a digital diary, with a much more personal feel. This account is where I have shared most of my acting and music content thus far, however, I plan to transfer that content to my other account and use this one as a more personal, feminine, and lifestyle-based outlet. This account has an 83% female following.
In 2025, I will start posting long form content on youtube, and churning shorter content from those videos to recycle on platforms like Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook Reels and TikTok. I plan on taking an all-roads-lead-to-Instagram approach, making the platform function as a hub for all of my endeavors and an all encompassing representation of my personal brand. I plan to focus certain platforms and additional accounts on music and writing specifically, so I can hone in on a niche and specific audience, increasing engagement and outreach. I will use platforms like X, Threads and Pinterest to direct traffic to the main profiles. My branding will be categorized but homogeneous in their visual aesthetic and my core identity. With consistency, batch content planning, and analytics based adjustments, I believe even brand new accounts created in 2025 will see significant growth in the first few months.
